Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck of the GUILDFORD is a historical maritime obstruction located off the coast of Teesside in the North Sea at coordinates 54 38.525 N, 1 6.315 W. Originally documented as a sunken vessel in 1954, the wreck was previously marked by a green conical light buoy positioned approximately 600 feet seaward of the site. In August 1955, the GUILDFORD was dispersed to ground level using explosives, and the marker buoy was subsequently withdrawn from service. Following a comprehensive multi-beam sonar survey conducted between 2017 and 2018 by Clinton Marine Survey, the wreck could not be located at the charted position. Consequently, the site is now officially classified as dead and is no longer considered an active underwater obstruction for navigation.
