Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck known as the Stirling is located off the coast of Tees Bay at coordinates 54 39.425 N, 1 7.431 W. Originally reported as a motor vessel laden with coal, the wreck was previously described as having two masts showing 8 feet above high water. Following maritime surveys conducted between 2017 and 2018, the obstruction was not located in the multibeam dataset, leading the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to officially order the removal of the Stirling from nautical charts in May 2020. This underwater site in the North Sea near the River Tees is now considered cleared and no longer presents a hazard to navigation.
