Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater shipwreck site located in Dublin Bay at coordinates 53 18.31 N, 6 9.36 W. This historical wreck is identified as a wooden sailing vessel lost prior to 1800 and is recorded on Captain Bligh's survey of Dublin Bay. The site consists of scattered wooden timbers, rough-cut slates in straw packing, and an anchor. The wreckage rests in approximately 3 meters of water and is believed to be covered by sediment. Due to the age of the wooden structure and the shift in sea floor conditions, the site is classified as a historical obstruction rather than a navigational hazard.

HH100/351/01 23.3.90 WK OF WOODEN SV, APPARENTLY LOST ON LEE SHORE PRIOR TO 1800. IT IS SHOWN CLEARLY ON CAPT. BLIGH'S SURVEY OF DUBLIN BAY. LOCATED BY A DREDGER IN 531818N, 060918W APPROX. TIMBERS, SLATES AND ANCHOR RECOVERED THOUGH THE LATTER WAS LOST AGAIN. CARGO APPARENTLY ROUGH CUT SLATES IN STRAW PACKING. LIES IN 3MTRS OF WATER AND MOST PROBABLY COVERED AGAIN. (I TUNSTEAD, 6.3.90). NCA, INFORMATION TOO VAGUE TO CHART.
