Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater wreck survey data for an obstruction located at 58 40.824 N, 5 12.294 W off the coast of the North West Highlands of Scotland near Cape Wrath. Historical records for this maritime hazard indicate a complex survey history. An initial wreck report in 1980 placed an obstruction at 58 40.49 N, 05 12.07 W, followed by a 1983 survey identifying a single point contact obstruction standing 1 meter high at 58 40.51 N, 05 12.13 W. Subsequent investigations in 2005 by Gardline using high-resolution survey equipment failed to locate the obstruction, leading to its classification as disproved and amended to dead in the UK Hydrographic Office records. Current hydrographic data identifies the wreck position at 58 40.824 N, 5 12.294 W. Mariners and maritime researchers should note this site as a historically reported underwater obstruction that has been officially disproved in recent surveys.
