Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater wreck and obstruction survey details for location 58 43.907 N, 5 5.428 W situated off the west coast of Scotland near the Minch. Historical records indicate that an initial anti-submarine contact reported on 19 December 1940 by HMT Stella Capella in the vicinity of 58 44.000 N, 05 05.000 W was classified as a probable non-submarine contact. A follow-up investigation conducted on 14 November 1983 utilized single point sonar at coordinates 58 43.560 N, 05 05.210 W. This survey identified a submerged object with a height of 1.1 meters, which was subsequently classified as a geological boulder rather than a man-made vessel or steel wreck. A final survey conducted on 30 November 2005 failed to locate any obstruction at this position, resulting in the site being officially amended to dead and removed from the active records of underwater hazards.
