Simplified Wreck Survey

An underwater shipwreck is located off the coast of South Georgia Island in the South Atlantic Ocean at coordinates 54 9.769 S, 36 40.719 W. This intact, upright wreck measures 49 meters in length, 12 meters in width, and 9.5 meters in height, featuring a prominent foremast. It lies in a general depth of 69 meters with a least multibeam depth of 60.2 meters, oriented on a 010/190 degree heading with bows facing NNE parallel to the contours. Believed to be a former whaler due to its proximity to an abandoned whaling station, the site includes a small 30 centimeter deep scour extending 190 degrees, likely caused by a mooring line, with no major surrounding scour.

UPRIGHT, INTACT, HAS PROMINENT FORMAST. SMALL 30CM DEEP SCOUR RUNS 190 DEGS, PROBABLY CAUSED BY A MOORING LINE. PROBABLY A WHALER AS LIES CLOSE TO THE ABADONED WHALING STATION. LIES PARALLEL TO THE CONTOURS. (HMS PROTECTOR, SNT 05-13). INS AS WK 60MTRS.
