Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater wreck survey details for uncharted obstruction located off the coast of South Georgia Island in the South Atlantic Ocean at coordinates 54 9.486 S, 36 42.325 W. Examined with a least multibeam depth of 35.8 meters in a general depth of 46 meters with no scour. The intact, upright shipwreck measures 48 meters in length, 12 meters in width, and 10 meters in height, lying on a 5 to 10 degree slope oriented 135/315 degrees with bows facing northwest. Believed to be a historic whaler due to its close proximity to an abandoned whaling station, charted as a 35-meter wreck.

INTACT, UPRIGHT, LYING ON A 5 - 10 DEGS SLOPE AT RIGHT ANGLES TO THE CONTOURS. PROBABLY A WHALER AS LIES CLOSE TO THE ABANDONED WHALING STATION. (HMS PROTECTOR, SNT 05-13). INS AS WK 35MTRS.
