Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck Tandil is a historically recorded underwater obstruction located approximately 20 miles west by north of Portland in the English Channel. The charted coordinates for the Tandil are 49 36.54 N, 2 57.68 W. Although historical records from the UK Hydrographic Office initially listed the Tandil as an underwater wreck at a depth of 54 meters, subsequent sonar surveys and search passes conducted by survey vessels failed to locate any structural remains on the seabed. Due to these exhaustive search efforts, the Tandil is now classified as disproved and officially designated as an amended dead wreck record, meaning no physical structure, welded steel, or debris exists at this position.
