Simplified Wreck Survey
The Rhona is an intact and upright underwater wreck located in the English Channel at coordinates 49 43.312 N, 2 54.382 W. First surveyed using DGPS in 2001, the vessel measures 68 meters in length and 13 meters in width. The wreck sits in a general water depth of 68 meters with a least echo sounder depth of 59.7 meters. The site shows no signs of scour and displays a moderate magnetic anomaly. Visual inspections and sonar imagery confirm the ship is lying in a 068/248 degree orientation with its bows facing southwest. The site remains well-preserved and stable, featuring an overall height of 8.1 meters above the seabed. It continues to be recorded in international maritime records and charts as a significant underwater obstruction.
