The shipwreck ELLA is a historical maritime obstruction located in Tees Bay off the North East coast of England at coordinates 54 41.008 N, 1 8.098 W. Originally a cargo vessel transporting two large marine boilers for a ship under construction, the ELLA foundered in the bay in 1938. Despite extensive historical searches conducted by the Tees Conservancy Commission and HMS Scott, the wreck was never formally located at the reported position, which was deemed unreliable at the time. Modern hydrographic surveys conducted between 2017 and 2018 by Clinton Marine Survey confirmed that no shipwreck or underwater obstruction remains at these coordinates. Consequently, the wreck ELLA is officially classified as dead or non-existent in the maritime dataset.
