Simplified Wreck Survey
The underwater wreck of the Neree (probably) is located at coordinates 50 24.967 N, 2 11.183 W in the English Channel off the southern coast of the United Kingdom. This historic shipwreck lies at a least echo sounder depth of 47.2 meters in a general seabed depth of 49 meters over a shingle bottom. Survey and diving investigations confirm the site consists of the remains of a small wooden sailing vessel oriented on a 120/300 degree heading. Very little of the wooden hull remains intact, though structural descriptions note surviving copper keel pins in the seabed, copper sheathing, a recovered square cross-section sounding lead, and a cargo of molded iron. The wreckage stands approximately 2 meters high with no associated scour.
