Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck identified as SELKIE was historically reported at coordinates 50 28.219 N, 2 13.413 W in the English Channel near the coast of Devon. Initial records from 1960 indicated the vessel sank in 22 fathoms of water, but subsequent hydrographic surveys conducted in 1964 and 1994 failed to locate any wreckage at this site. Advanced sonar and magnetometer searches by HMS Scott and HMS Bulldog confirmed no structural remnants, such as welded steel or broken hull sections, exist at this location. Consequently, the wreck site is officially classified as dead and removed from hydrographic charts.
