Simplified Wreck Survey

UKHO wreck record for the IONA located at coordinates 50 40.101 N, 1 56.182 W near Portland in the English Channel off the southern coast of the United Kingdom. This underwater obstruction sank on June 13, 1985, and was historically positioned mid-way between numbers 8 and 10 buoys on the landward side of the training bank with its mast showing. Portland MRSC confirmed it posed no danger to navigation at the time of sinking. The record was marked as dead and no further information has been received since July 17, 2013, meaning it is not shown on BA chart 2175.
