The shipwreck of HMS Pozarica is a historic maritime site located in the entrance to the port of Bejaia, Algeria, at geographical coordinates 36 45.167 N, 5 6 E. Originally reported sunk in April 1943, the vessel was located in the Avant Port area. Historical survey data indicates that the wreck was positioned with the bow approximately 900 feet from the western entrance light on a bearing of 046 degrees, and the stern 800 feet away on a bearing of 066 degrees. At the time of the initial hydrographic reports, the least depth over the hull was recorded at 6 feet, with wreckage including masts extending roughly 250 feet from the center of the ship. While early salvage operations were conducted and the site was previously marked by an oil drum, official hydrographic records from 1955 indicate the wreck was expunged and noted as removed or lifted. This site remains a point of interest for maritime history researchers studying Mediterranean naval activity during the Second World War.

Circumstances of loss
VESSEL, BUILT 1938, WAS PURCHASED BY RN & CONVERTED INTO A/A SHIP. TORPEDOED BY AERIAL ATTACK & TAKEN IN TOW BY HMS CADMUS TO BOUGIE WHERE, LATER, SHE CAPSIZED DURING SALVAGE OPERATIONS.
