(MOD, NC5 111/1510). NCA. H3649/81 19.4.82 THOUGHT TO HAVE STRUCK FAKSEN SHOAL & LATER TO HAVE SETTLED IN 5FMS N OF SKJOLASHL ISLAND IN ABOUT 671654N, 140348E APPROX. (K M MACLOED, LETTERS DTD 2.4.82 & 27.4.82). NCA. H3649/81 20.9.82 VESSEL WAS SEEN TO STRIKE FAKSEN BY TWO LOCAL FISHERMEN. SHE THEN DRIFTED TOWARDS BLIKSVAER LT AND STRANDED APPROX 200MTRS N OF SKJOLDSHOMMEN. SALVAGED & BROKEN UP IN THE EARLY 1950'S BY HOVDING BERGINGSKOMPANI, NORWAY FROM POSN 671644N, 140347E IN 9-10FMS [18MTRS]. SEABED SAND. (EYE-WITNESS ACCOUNT OF STRANDING HELD IN LETTER). (K M MACLOED DTD 25.8.82 & NORGES SJOKARTVERK DTD 19.8.82). NCA, AMENDED TO LIFT.

VESSEL, BUILT IN 1925 AT PORTSMOUTH. ON PASSAGE FROM ANKENES FOR BODO WITH THE 2ND BATTALION SOUTH WALES BORDERERS & OTHER TROOPS, STRUCK AN ALLEGEDLY UNCHARTED ROCK & BECAME A TOTAL LOSS. THERE WERE NO CASUALTIES AMONG THE SHIP'S COMPANY OR THE TROOPS. THEY & MUCH OF THE EQUIPMENT WERE TAKEN TO BODO. (DODS).
