Wreck of the Jean Bart located at 22 10.5 N, 16 51 W off the coast of Western Sahara near Virginia Rock and Galha Hook. The historic wreck site is characterized by remnants of the vessel including standing lower masts and funnels. Initial hydrographic survey data from 1911 and 1927 placed the obstruction near Virginia Rock, with subsequent reports noting the site as a significant underwater hazard. The Jean Bart wreckage remains a documented navigational obstruction in the Atlantic Ocean waters near the Western Saharan coastline.
