Simplified Wreck Survey

The Lofotodden wreck, previously reported at coordinates 67 50.3 N, 13 10.2 E off the coast of Norway, has been officially removed from nautical charts. Initial reports from June 2001 identified the sinking position of the vessel, known as Lofotodden, near the Lofoten archipelago. Following subsequent hydrographic surveys and updates to Norwegian charts and British Admiralty maps, the obstruction was verified as non-existent or no longer a navigational hazard. The wreck was officially amended to dead and deleted from official records as of 2009. Mariners should no longer expect to encounter an underwater obstruction at these coordinates in the Norwegian Sea.
