Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck HAMNAVOE is located off the coast of Cape Wrath, Scotland, at coordinates 58 38.325 N, 4 55.696 W. This underwater wreck site was originally documented after the vessel was seen to sink approximately 2.3 miles from the Cape Wrath Lighthouse. Hydrographic surveys indicate the wreck lies in a region of seabed sandwaves. Detailed examinations recorded an area of debris measuring 18 by 16 meters, oriented north to south. While earlier survey data identified a least echo sounder depth of 33 meters within a general depth range of 31 to 36 meters, subsequent magnetometer surveys suggest the wreck is likely buried beneath the seabed. Current data classifies the site as a non-dangerous underwater obstruction that does not extend above the surrounding sandwaves.
