The shipwreck AUDAX lies off the coast of Whitby in the North Sea at coordinates 54 36.538 N, 0 41.426 W. This underwater obstruction sits in a general water depth of 47 meters with a least multibeam depth of 41.5 meters. The wreck is severely disintegrated and partially buried, measuring 70 meters in length, 11.5 meters in width, and 5.56 meters in height. Oriented on an 085/265 degree axis, the site features structural remains including an aft engine, two forward holds, a single boiler with two furnaces, and a triple compound engine. A ship's bell recovered from the port side of the bow suggests the vessel was previously named HAADRAADE. The site is characterized by well-decayed wreckage, scattered debris, and significant trawling remnants.

EX-HAARDRAADE. BUILT IN 1903 BY KON MAATS DE SCHELDE, FLUSHING. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY THE SHIPPING CONTROLLER. ONE BOILER, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 123HP, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE ROUEN FOR THE TYNE. TORPEDOED BY UB 80. WAS TAKEN IN TOW BY PATROL VESSEL 'RICHARD JEWELL' BUT FOUNDERED SOME 14 MILES FURTHER ON WHEN BULKHEAD COLLAPSED. TWO MEN LOST.
