The wreck of the vessel X.L. is located off the coast of Seaton Carew, Hartlepool, at coordinates 54 40.008 N, 1 11.098 W. Originally recorded as running aground at Seaton Sands in October 1974 following steering failure, the vessel sustained damage beyond repair. Current hydrographic surveys indicate the remains of the X.L. are situated in shallow waters near the North Sea coastline. Due to the minimal depth at this location, the wreck site is considered too shallow for traditional hydrographic surveying, and the structural remains are largely submerged. Searchers and marine enthusiasts should note the site is designated for filing only, with no further action required.
