The shipwreck ILSE is recorded at coordinates 54 41.241 N, 1 10.831 W, situated off the coast of North East England in the North Sea near the Tees and Hartlepool area. Historical survey records indicate the wreck was initially identified as a submerged obstruction located 157 degrees from the Old Pier front light. Following historical dispersal operations in 1943, the site was officially declared foul ground. Subsequent hydrographic surveys conducted in 1975 by the Tees and Hartlepool Port Authority confirmed that the obstruction no longer exists. The survey status for the wreck ILSE is now officially amended to dead, meaning no structural elements such as welded steel or broken debris remain at this specific geographic location.
