The shipwreck STANCOURT is located at coordinates 59 27.967 N, 6 36.069 W off the coast of the Outer Hebrides in the Atlantic Ocean. Although historical records from the UK Hydrographic Office note the vessel sank in the area, subsequent sonar surveys conducted by the Royal Navy in 1976 and 1980 failed to locate the wreckage. Following a comprehensive data re-assessment in 2004, the wreck status of the STANCOURT was officially amended to dead, as the original reported position proved too vague and the site too deep to confirm the existence of a structural obstruction. Consequently, the STANCOURT is no longer charted as an underwater hazard to navigation in this sector of the Atlantic.
