The shipwreck of the S T Wallsend is located at coordinates 54 38.283 N, 1 9.689 W along the North Gare Sands near the mouth of the River Tees. Historical survey records indicate that this underwater obstruction consists of structural remnants including a boiler and condenser. The wreck site is subject to tidal shifts and is frequently covered by sand, making its profile well broken and periodically obscured. Due to the shifting nature of the seabed at this location near the South Gare Lighthouse, the remains are historically documented as highly fragmented. Detailed nautical examinations have confirmed that little of the original structure remains visible above the shifting sands of the Tees estuary.
