Simplified Wreck Survey
The underwater wreck ROTA is located at coordinates 56 47.17 N, 11 3.397 E in the Kattegat sea between Denmark and Sweden. Historical hydrographic survey records from the UK Hydrographic Office document the site's history starting in August 1947 when a mast was initially inserted at 564618N, 110330E. The wreck position was subsequently amended in February 1948 to 564712N, 110328E, with a buoy and flag marker temporarily established to mark the danger. Over time, depth surveys updated the wreck measurements, initially noting a depth of 7.9 meters or 4.2 fathoms in May 1948, before final hydrographic updates settled the depth at 10.0 meters or 5.3 fathoms while deleting the marking buoy in August 1948. Later chart updates in December 1976 reaffirmed the 10.0 meter depth, though a 2016 survey note indicated the wreck is no longer shown on local Danish chart 101.
