Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck Paulina is located at coordinates 54 58.336 N, 5 11.051 W in the coastal waters near St Helens. Historical survey records indicate the vessel lies in shallow water with a maximum depth of 40 feet. The site consists of scattered wreckage over a large area, including prominent structural descriptions such as boilers rising about 8 feet from the sandy seabed with plates half buried in the sand. Parts of the keel extend for about 35 feet and show at low water. The wreckage is closely associated with the remains of another ship, possibly the Baron Glamis. Although noted in historical reports by sub aqua members and divers, a 2017 multibeam survey did not locate the wreck, and its status is now amended as dead.

H1285/75 10.7.75 LIES IN SHALLOW WATER MAX DEPTH 40FT. MANY PIECES SCATTERED OVER A LARGE AREA, LARGEST SECTIONS ARE THE BOILERS WHICH RISE ABOUT 8FT FROM THE SEABED WITH PLATES HALF BURIED IN THE SANDY BOTTOM. (A. NEWTON, ST.HELENS, LETTER).
