Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater obstruction located off the coast of Chesil Beach, Dorset, at coordinates 50 34.478 N, 2 28.269 W. This underwater wreck site was examined in September 2008 and is characterized by a least multibeam depth of 10.09 meters within a general surrounding depth of 11.6 meters. The obstruction features a scour depth of 0.5 meters and measures 10.5 meters in length, 9 meters in width, and 2.0 meters in height. Oriented along a 050/230-degree axis, the structure appears to consist of dispersed hull plating detected on multiple survey lines. The site is potentially associated with the historic wreck of the Royal Adelaide and is currently charted as a 10-meter obstruction.
