Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck at coordinates 8 29.324 N, 13 12.167 W, located off the coast of Sierra Leone near Freetown, was previously identified as the HMS Beagle. Historical surveying records from March 2002 indicated wreckage visible at this position. However, a follow-up assessment by the UK Hydrographic Office in August 2019 using photo-plot analysis determined that nothing is currently shown at this location. Consequently, the wreck status has been amended to dead, indicating that no underwater obstruction or wreckage remains visible at these coordinates.
