Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater wreck survey record located at 56 25.858 N, 20 29.258 E in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Latvia. This sonar contact was originally identified on April 17, 1988, using Sonar Type 162M and recorded under survey reference H4315/78. Although initially investigated as a potential shipwreck, the site is not considered a hazard to navigation. Subsequent hydrographic reviews in 1995, 2000, and 2015 by international authorities, including Latvian and Russian charting services, confirmed the obstruction is not depicted on current maritime charts. The wreck status is currently classified as dead, indicating it is no longer an active navigational concern in the surveyed Baltic waters.
