Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck ELFI is an underwater obstruction located near the southern entrance to Libau Harbor in the Baltic Sea at coordinates 56 31.817 N, 20 57.95 E. Historical survey records identify the site as the remains of a steel steamer with a least depth of 14 feet in a general depth of 29 feet, situated approximately 203 feet from the southern pier head. The vessel sustained heavy damage with the hull, deck, hatches, engine, and fore and aft parts completely destroyed, while the propeller and patent anchor remained undamaged. Modern hydrographic surveys and Latvian charts confirm that the wreck is no longer charted and is classified as dead.
