Underwater wreck information for the Kilkenny located off the coast of Dublin near the Poolbeg Lighthouse. The wreck site is identified at coordinates 53 21.31 N, 6 7.877 W in the Irish Sea. Historical survey data indicates this site consists of wreckage remains following salvage operations conducted in 1992. Although initial salvage efforts were undertaken to remove the structure, historical records suggest the partial remains of the Kilkenny occupy this location near Dublin Bay. This underwater obstruction is marked as unlit and navigation should be exercised with caution when operating in these coastal waters.

BUILT IN 1973 BY VEROLME CORK DOCKYARDS LTD, CORK. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY B 7 I LINE PLC. 7 CYLINDER OIL ENGINE OF 3900 BHP, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE ANTWERP FOR DUBLIN. SANK FOLLOWING COLLISION WITH GERMAN MV HASSELWERDER WHILE NTERING PORT. 3 MEN LOST. WRECK WAS CUT INTO THREE SECTIONS AND LIFTED IN 1992. (SIBI).
