The Kankawati was a tugboat wreck situated in the Gulf of Kutch off the coast of Gujarat, India, at coordinates 22 43.73 N, 69 44.08 E (22 43 42 N, 69 44 06 E). The vessel was originally reported sunk on May 26, 1983, and recorded by the UK Hydrographic Office and Indian hydrographic authorities as a dangerous wreck and obstruction to navigation. Given its location in a busy waterway, the tug was listed as a dangerous submerged wreck with an approximate position. Following maritime updates and survey assessments in June 2002, the wreck status of the Kankawati was amended to dead and officially deleted from active navigational hazard charts under Indian Notice to Mariners 9/186/02.
