Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck of the J B Paddon is located underwater at coordinates 53 54.003 N, 0 11.995 E off the coast of England in the Humber region of the North Sea. Originally abandoned and presumed sunk in December 1941, the wreck was later surveyed and officially identified on September 19, 1992, when divers recovered an engine room identification plate confirming its identity as the J B Paddon, a vessel locally known as the Bullet Ship due to ammunition found on its stern. Modern multibeam sonar surveys conducted in March 2016 provide precise structural descriptions of the underwater obstruction, showing the wreck is positioned upright on the seabed with its aft section partly buried in sand waves, featuring a strong magnetic anomaly, a length of 40.2 meters, a width of 9.1 meters, a height of 4.33 meters, an orientation of 154/334 degrees, and a least depth of 26.51 meters in a general surrounding depth of 30 meters alongside a 5-meter scour.
