POSN 535348N, 001075E FOR FILING ONLY. H5916/59 9.6.60 TWO SEARCHES USING BOAT SHIPS SWEEPS AND E/S BY TH VESSEL VESTAL ON 25.8.59. A SQUARE, 8C ACROSS, WITH CENTRE 145DEGS, 16M FROM FLAMBOROUGH HD WAS EXAM'D. SOME SMALL PIECES WERE FOUND 4C W OF CENTRE OF THIS AREA, BUT WERE CONSIDERED TOO SMALL TO BE STAXTON WYKE. A SQUARE, 8C ACROSS, WITH CENTRE 138DEGS, 12M FROM FLAMBOROUGH HD. NOTHING FOUND. ON 7.10.59 TH VESSEL 'MERMAID' CARRIED OUT AN A/S SURVEY OF THE TWO AREAS, EACH 1.5M SQUARE, CENTRED IN THE ABOVE POSITIONS, BUT NO ADDITIONAL CONTACTS WERE MADE. TRACINGS HELD CONSIDERED TO BE THAT OF THE 'DANA'. (TH, 22.10.59). AMEND DEAD. NCA. SEP 2016/000053291 26.10.16 NOT SEEN IN M/B DATASET. (MMT, HI 1473). NFA.

REQUISTIONED IN 1939 AS A/S TRAWLER/AUX PATROL VESSEL 'FY 4.89'. MAY 1940 LOANED TO US NAVY (RN CREW) FOR N ATLANTIC A/S WORK. SOLD TO KINGSTON STEAM TRAWLING CO LTD, HULL AND RENAMED 'KINGSTON EMERALD'. SOLD DEC 1951 TO WEST DOCK STEAM FISHING CO, HULL. PASSAGE ICELANDIC FISHING GROUNDS FOR HULL. SANK QUICKLY FOLLOWING A COLLISION WITH MV DALHANNA IN THICK FOG. COULD NOT BE FOUND DURING SEARCHES BY TRINITY HOUSE WITHIN DAYS OF HER LOSS. (DODS & SIBI).
