Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck known as the Indiano Freezer sank in 1852 in the Arabian Sea off the coast of India, located near the coordinates 18 53 N, 72 50.818 E. Historical UK Hydrographic Office survey records from 1985 to 1987 document the wreck, which originally had a least depth of 3.8 meters and was temporarily marked by green flashing light buoys during salvage operations. Following extensive salvage operations, the wreck of the Indiano Freezer was officially reported as salvaged and removed, with local navigation markers subsequently withdrawn.

BUILT IN 1966 BY SOLVESBORGS VARV A/B, SOLVESBORG. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY OMER HASHAM ABUSEEDO. PASSAGE BOMBAY FOR DUBAI. SANK FOLLOWING A COLLISION WITH SINGAPORE MV ATAIR. WAS REFLOATED BY MADGAVKAR SALVAGE, OF GOA, IN AUGUST, 1986, AND THEN TOWED TO BUTCHER REEF AND DUMPED. 12 OF 14 CREW WERE SAFELY RESCUED. (MSD).
