Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck of the vessel Dimitrios, likely located near the coast of Tarifa, Spain in the Strait of Gibraltar at coordinates 36 1.02 N, 5 42.58 W, has a documented history following its grounding on February 14, 1983. Initially deemed a total loss and not to be refloated, portions of the vessel superstructure remained visible above the water as late as 1990. However, following hydrographic confirmation from the Spanish Hydrographic Office in 1995, the wreck was officially marked for deletion from nautical charts and classified as dead by 1997.
