VESSEL, BUILT 1920 BY CAMPBELTOWN SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD.. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY CIA. NAVIERA ORION. ON PASSAGE FROM SAGUNTO TO BILBAO. BROKE IN TWO WHEN SHE RAN AGROUND DURING BAD WEATHER & POOR VISIBILITY. SHE WAS DELIBERATELY SET ON FIRE IN ORDER TO AVOID THE CONTAMINATION OF NEARBY BEACHES BY THE 350 TONS OF FUEL POSSIBLY POURING FROM HER TANKS. ALL CREW SAFE. (MSD).
