Circumstances of loss

BUILT IN 1973 BY COCKERILL YARDS HOBOKEN, HOBOKEN. EX-MINERALIS (1987) & EX-MINERAL MARCHIENNE (1986). HAD LEAK IN ENGINE ROOM, DUE WELD FRACTURE WHILE AT ANCHOR IN SEPETIBA BAY. CREW WAS TAKEN OFF AND VESSEL BEACHED BY TUGS TO PREVENT HER SINKING. REFLOATED FOR REPAIRS, CARGO WAS DISCHARGED. SHE WAS SETTLED AS A CONSTRUCTIVE TOTAL LOSS, SOLD AND TOWED TO ALANG TO BE SCRAPPED. (MSD).
