Circumstances of loss
21.2.67 RAN AGROUND ON ROCKS OFF BLACK HEAD ON A DARK NIGHT IN POOR VISIBILITY. SHE WAS REFLOATED QUICKLY, DRIFTED SOUTHWARDS WITHOUT POWER BUT WAS FOUND TO BE MAKING WATER WHICH GAVE HER A LIST TO STARBOARD WHICH WHEN IT REACHED 40DEG CAUSED HER TO TURN OVER AND SINK. THE CREW OF 17 WERE TAKEN OFF BY LIFEBOAT AND THE MV ANTERIORITY. (R HOBBS LTR DD 21.2.67).
