Simplified Wreck Survey

Unidentified submerged shipwreck and underwater obstruction located in the Hooghly River near Kolkata, West Bengal, India, at coordinates 22 33.279 N, 88 16.41 E. Originally recorded in June 1978 as a dangerous wreck at position 22 33 14 N, 88 16 31 E on Indian navigational chart IND 3011, the site marks a shallow marine hazard in the river waterway. Later hydrographic survey assessments updated on British Admiralty chart BA 135 and Indian chart 3006 note the wreck charted at a depth of 2 meters at coordinates 22 33.239 N, 88 16.540 E, remaining a significant navigational hazard for vessels transiting the Hooghly River approaches.
