Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck of the MV Auchmacoy is a historical underwater obstruction historically recorded at coordinates 06 08.75 N, 03 24.25 E. This site is located off the coast of Nigeria in the Gulf of Guinea. Originally scuttled in 1951 in a general depth of 56 fathoms, the vessel was later surveyed by HMS Enterprise in 2007. During the 2007 survey, the wreck could not be located at the charted position, leading to its classification as a dead or non-existent obstruction in UK Hydrographic Office records. Despite its removal from some official navigation charts, the site remains a point of interest for historical maritime research in West African waters.
