3.7.82 VESSEL, BUILT 1958 BY ELSFLETHER WERFT A.G., ELSFLETH/WESER. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY KIMON MARITIME CO., S.A. ON PASSAGE FROM PORT SUDAN FOR ROTTERDAM. FIRE BROKE OUT IN ENGINE ROOM ON 3.7.82. TOWED TO PYLOS WHERE FIRE BROKE OUT AGAIN DURING AUGUST & SEPTEMBER DUE TO SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION IN WETTED CARGO. WAS DECLARED A CONSTRUCTIVE TOTAL LOSS, TOWED OUT & SUNK IN DEEP WATER. (LLOYDS VOL.250 & MSD).
