3.12.78 VESSEL, BUILT 1957 BY J READHEAD & SONS LTD, SOUTH SHIELDS. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY STOLOS CIA. NAV., S.A. ON PASSAGE FROM ANTWERP FOR JEDDAH. GENERAL CARGO, INCLUDING CHEMICALS. GROUNDED IN HEAVY WEATHER S OF PYLOS AFTER STRIKING A ROCK OUTSIDE THE HARBOUR. DUE TO CONTINUAL POUNDING BROKE HER BACK & BECAME PARTIALY SUBMERGED. SLIPPED OFF THE ROCKS & SANK ON 3.12.78. CREW OF 30 PLUS BOATSWIAN'S WIFE SAFE. (MSD).
