VESSEL, BUILT 1973 BY MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES LTD, HIROSHIMA. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY AEGEAN SEA TRADERS CORP. GROUNDED ON ROCKS IN HEAVY WEATHER WHILE APPROACHING HARBOUR FOLLOWING A PASSAGE FROM SULLOM VOE. BROKE IN TWO, HAD EXPLOSIONS, CAUGHT FIRE AND CAUSED A MASSIVE OIL SPILLAGE. BOW SECTION SANK COMPLETELY. CONSIDERED THE WORST OIL POLLUTION DISASTER OF 1992. (MSD).
