Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck of the vessel VITI is located at coordinates 17 37.21 S, 177 21.28 E on Tivoa Reef off the coast of Fiji. Originally reported as aground on the reef in 1982, the wreckage was later recorded as no longer visible above the waterline, though it remains a charted underwater obstruction. Survey data updated in 1994 adjusted the wreck position based on the Fiji 86 datum to 17 37.12 S, 177 21.16 E. Mariners and divers are advised that while the VITI may be well broken or structurally submerged, the remains continue to be charted for navigation safety pending further close-range hydrographic examination of the Tivoa Reef area.
