Simplified Wreck Survey
The underwater wreck Mamanutha Princess, historically reported as a 12-meter wooden vessel, was previously recorded at coordinates 17 45.613 S, 177 18.773 E near Malamala Island, Fiji. Initial surveys from 1993 suggested the wreck site was located 3 miles southeast of Malamala Island at a depth of 21 meters, describing the hull as severely damaged by fire and structural breakdown. However, subsequent official maritime surveys conducted in 2004 and 2012 by harbour pilots confirmed that the Mamanutha Princess no longer exists at this location. As of the latest maritime data, the wreck has been removed, is no longer considered an underwater obstruction, and the site is officially classified as dead.

[FIJI 1986 DATUM] POSN: 1745.613S, 17718.763E. HH586/550/04 9.3.04 WK HAS BEEN CONFIRMED NOT TO EXIST BY THE HARBOUR PILOT. VESSEL WAS A 12MTR WOODEN BOAT. (MT IVER EXPORTER, HN DTD 24.2.04). Circumstances of loss
CAUGHT FIRE WHILST AT ANCHOR AT SHERATON. WELL BURNED OUT AND REDUCED TO WATERLINE. LATER DRIFTED AND FINALLY SANK AFTER EFFORTS TO TOW VESSEL BACK TO MAINLAND FAILED. SANK OFF MALAMALA ISLAND, FIJI. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY BAY CRUISES (FIJI) LIMITED.
