Wreck Details for the VENI located off the coast of Islay, Scotland. The wreck of the VENI is situated at coordinates 55 55.483 N, 6 17.478 W in the waters near Balach Rocks. Originally stranded in January 1948, the vessel was identified as a wreckage of interest in subsequent surveys. Detailed underwater survey data confirmed the current position of the VENI with a least multibeam depth of 19.65 meters in a general depth of 20 meters. The wreck structure measures 13.8 meters in length, 2.9 meters in width, and has a height of 0.58 meters. The debris lies on a 060/240 degree orientation. No significant scour has been observed around the site. Previous historical records noted the stern section was once intact and lying on its port side. This underwater obstruction remains a charted feature for navigation near the Islay coastline.
