Simplified Wreck Survey

Wreck Details: Wyre Majestic Bow Section. Located off the coast of Bunnahabhain, Isle of Islay, Scotland. The wreck of the Wyre Majestic is situated at coordinates 55 52.95 N, 06 07.14 W. The vessel was originally stranded in the area in 1974 and subsequently declared a Constructive Total Loss. Over the decades, the wreck has deteriorated significantly and broken into two distinct parts. The stern section remains stranded on the rocky foreshore. The bow section is located at the specified coordinates, resting in approximately 8 meters of water with the mast visible at low tide. Historical surveys describe the structure as a rusty steel hull with white accommodation remains. Although the wreck is clearly charted, later survey attempts in 2010 were unable to locate the debris at the exact listed position, suggesting the wreck may have settled closer inshore near the drying rocks. This site remains a charted dangerous wreck (DW) for maritime navigation.
