EX-GUERNSEY QUEEN. BUILT IN 1939 IN BURNTISLAND. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY GIBSONS & CO, LEITH. OIL ENGINE, SINGLE SHAFT. WAS ORIGINALLY SUNK BY A GERMAN MINE IN OCTOBER 1944 WHILST ENTERING BOULOGNE HARBOUR. STERN SECTION SALVAGED IN 1947, TOWED TO GRANGEMOUGH WHERE A NEW 120FT BOW SECTION WAS BUILT ON. VESSEL RENAMED TRAQUAIR. PASSAGE LEITH FOR TERNUEZEN. FOUNDERED AND LOST AFTER DEVELOPING A SEVER LIST FOLLOWING A SHIFT IN THE CARGO. (SIBI). CREW OF 11 RECOVERED BY MV GANNET, MASTER RECOVERED BY TUG 'SCALDIS'. (LL).
