Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck Tor Bay is an underwater obstruction located off the coast of Foz do Douro at Homem do Leme Beach in Portugal at coordinates 41 9.497 N, 8 41.198 W. The vessel stranded on rocks parallel to the shore approximately 50 meters from the beach facing a heading north with its stern on rocks clear of the water. The holed ship was deemed unviable for salvage as it was trapped on inaccessible rocks and broke in two. Historical records from Lloyds note the wreck split apart, and later hydrographic surveys in December 2000 amended the status to dead and deleted it from official charts.
