Wreck TIZONA located at 56 11.663 N 1 45.098 W near the Farne Islands off the Northumberland coast is officially classified as a dead wreck. Historical survey data indicated the vessel was originally reported sunk approximately 35 miles north-northeast of the Longstone lighthouse. Following comprehensive hydrographic surveys conducted by Gardline utilizing multibeam echosounder and magnetometer technology, the obstruction could not be located at the charted position. Consequently, the wreck record for TIZONA has been amended to dead and removed from official nautical charts. Navigation charts previously identified this site as a non-dangerous wreck with position approximate but current maritime data confirms no physical remains exist at these coordinates.
